ABSTRACT
Beverage production can generate large volumes of wastewater that can contain high levels of organic matter, nutrients, and other pollutants. The treatment of beverage wastewater is necessary to prevent environmental contamination and comply with regulatory requirements. In recent years, aloe vera has been investigated as a potential treatment method for beverage wastewater due to its ability to adsorb pollutants and promote the growth of beneficial microorganisms. Coagulation and jar test was carried out in the analysis of aloe Vera efficiency. This project presents a review of the current state of research on the use of aloe vera for beverage wastewater treatment. Laboratory study has shown that aloe vera gel can effectively remove pollutants such as Turbidity, BOD, COD, and phosphorus from beverage wastewater, with removal rates of up to 40.32%, 4.36%, 45.32 and 5.31 %, respectively. However, the effectiveness of aloe vera in beverage wastewater treatment can be influenced by several factors such as the initial concentration and type of pollutants, the dosage and preparation of aloe vera, the treatment time, and the pH of the wastewater. Therefore, further research and testing are needed to determine the effectiveness and feasibility of using aloe vera for large-scale wastewater treatment in the beverage industry.
