ABSTRACT
The main purpose of this study is to access the roles of teachers in classroom management in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Benin City. Four research questions were designed to guide the study. Data collection from the schools sample was done with the aid of questionnaire to know the level of classroom management in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area. Data Analysis involved simple percentages which were used and followed by an item analysis concerning the frequency with kach result surfaced in the content of the study. The study reviewed that the roles of teacher in classroom management is basically planning of lesson, inculcating discipline, delegating responsibility anal ensuring decorum that will make such class conducive for teaching and Learning. It was concluded that classroom management facilitate effective teaching and learning by promoting discipline and bringing decorum to that than which create a conducive environment for learning and enhances the rare assimilation of students as such the role of a teacher in classroom management cannot be over emphasize owing to its important to academic Development.
