ABSTRACT
This study focuses on the role of the television in curbing cyber bullying, using ITV and EBS as a case study. The spread of cyber bullying is on the rise because of the advancement of technology in the country, young children and youth, and adults who have access this device are prone to become victims of cyber bullying. With this rapid occurrence, the media most especially the television needs to pay attention to this rising issue to helping in curbing of cyber bullying. After careful analysis of data generated, it was discovered that the studied Television stations do not have contents/programs that enlightens the public about cyber bullying and curb cyber bullying. It was also ascertained that many respondent are indifferent on the issue cyber bullying. The study concludes that television station should project cyber bullying in ways that will enlighten and in turn fight against cyber bullying and also recommends that environment should create an enabling environment for victims to speak up and further research to be conducted in 5years time to ascertain if the television outlets are sitting up in this regard.
