ABSTRACT
The most effective approach to increase community immunization rates involves seeking guidance from healthcare professionals. Community Pharmacists, as readily accessible healthcare experts, play a vital role in advising on vaccines, with their counseling and recommendation behavior being shaped by their knowledge and practice of immunization. A qualitative research approach was adopted to survey a sample of 40 community pharmacists in Benin city, Edo state. Seventeen carefully selected questions were used to assess the knowledge and practice of community pharmacists regarding vaccination. Through physical meetings and online meetings, research was carried out. A total of 40 respondents completed the survey. a good percent (more than 50%) of community pharmacist had knowledge regarding vaccination, whereas 52.5% do not carry out vaccination services in their pharmacy premises. 87.5% collaborate with other agencies to promote vaccination. The study found that community pharmacist had good knowledge on vaccination but practice among community pharmacist was low. it is therefore necessary to improve the expertise of community pharmacists in the field of immunization by engaging in training programs and workshops.
