ABSTRACT
This study investigates the impact of the 2022 fluvial floods on residents of the Ellu community. The 2022 Fluvial flood in Nigeria, caused by overflowing rivers or streams due to the opening of the Lago Dam in Cameroon, posed significant risks to human populations residing in flood-prone areas. Through a combination of field surveys, interviews, and data analysis, this research aims to assess the extent of human vulnerability and resilience to fluvial floods in Ellu Community. Key factors such as flood frequency, severity, duration, and timing will be examined alongside socioeconomic indicators including demographics, infrastructure, and community preparedness. The findings will contribute to a deeper understanding of the human dimensions of fluvial flood impacts, informing targeted strategies for risk reduction and adaptive measures tailored to the village communities. Understanding these impacts is crucial for effective disaster management and the development of sustainable resilience strategies in flood-prone regions.
