Success or failure of any project is greatly influenced by the performance of cost, time and quality aspects of a project. The performance of each project may differ with the type of procurement system used. Therefore, performance of projects should be considered in making the decision to select suitable procurement system. This study sought to find out the level of use of Design-bid-build (DBB) and Design-build (DB) procurement methods, the factors determining and the performance of projects undertaken using DBB and DB procurement methods. A total number of 234 questionnaires were administered to the target population after which 90 were collected and analysed with SPSS (V.16). It was found that in Edo state, the level of use of DBB procurement method is highest in Educational building projects and Civil engineering projects while the level of use of DB procurement method is highest in Industrial, Storage and Residential buildings. In addition to the previous finding, it was also discovered that the DB projects perform better in certain measures such as project speed and ease of dispute resolution. The DBB projects on the other hand perform better in certain other measures such as client’s involvement and more value for money and public accountability. The synthesis of the outcome of this study reveals that the adoption of any the procurement methods for a construction project should be strictly supervised to so as to ensure optimal delivery performance in such projects
