ABSTRACT
This project aims to investigate and assess the prevalent leadership styles within construction organizations operating in Edo State, Nigeria. Leadership plays a pivotal role in the success of construction projects, as it influences project team dynamics, decision-making processes, and overall project outcomes. Understanding the leadership styles employed in this specific context is crucial for enhancing project performance and organizational effectiveness. The project will investigate various leadership styles, including Autocratic, Democratic, transformational, transactional, and laissez-faire leadership, to discern their prevalence and effectiveness in the local construction industry. Factors such as organizational culture, project complexity, and stakeholder dynamics will be explored to understand their influence on leadership styles. The findings of this research will provide valuable insights for construction organizations operating in Edo State, enabling them to tailor their leadership approaches to better align with the unique challenges and opportunities of the region. Furthermore, the study aims of this research is to examine the leadership styles used in construction organizations with a view to impact on enhancing workers productivity. Ultimately, this research seeks to promote effective leadership practices that enhance the performance and sustainability of construction projects in Edo State.
