ABSTRACT
The study dealt on the assessment of factors influencing students’ satisfaction and retention in Business Education programme in University of Benin, Benin City. To achieve the purpose of the study, four research questions were raised and answered. The sample size for the study was made up of 214 respondents. The descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. An analysis of data was done using mean score and standard deviation. The findings from the study include there is no significant differences on students’ satisfaction and retention in Business Education programme based on sex or level of study. It was concluded that career opportunities, learning environment, peer group and family background constituted the factors influencing students’ satisfaction and retention in Business Education programme in University of Benin, Benin City. The study recommended among others that there should be collaboration between the government and relevant educational stakeholders to ensure that the learning environment is modern, well-equipped, and conducive to learning. This should include providing access to the latest technology, comfortable study spaces, and comprehensive libraries.
