ABSTRACT
The study investigated the availability of Resources for Effective Teaching and Learning of Basic Science in Egor Local Government Area, Benin City. Descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. The study was carried out in secondary schools in Egor Local Government Area of Edo state, Nigeria. The sample for the study consisted of 30 Basic Science Teachers in 8 Junior Secondary Schools. Both the schools and the teachers were selected using random sampling techniques. Data for the study was collected using Basic science resources checklist. Data for the study was analyzed using mean statistics and frequency counts presented in tables. The findings of the study revealed that majority of teachers understand and are aware of various resources that can be use in science lessons. It was also found based on the analysis of data collected that teachers believe basic science resources are essential for effective teaching in areas where resources are limited.
