ABSTRACT
This study seeks at examining the assessment of adult Education on Employability. This study is to evaluate how participant in Adult Education initiatives influence individual job prospect and career advancements. Four research questions were raised and examined. Data was collected from one hundred and fifty (150) respondents from the population of all 300level students of Adult and non-formal education in University of Benin. The questionnaire was used as the instrument for data collection and was designed to elicit appropriate information from the respondents. The descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study and the analysis of data was done using frequency count and simple percentage.
The findings of the study includes that Adult Education programmes provide the participants/learners with practical skills for employability by inculcating relevant practical skills for employment, training learners in real- life application of skills to enhance employability, and also respond to the changing demands of the job market in terms of the skills they provide.
Some of the recommendation made include; the skills acquired in Adult Education equip participants for wage employment, it is therefore imperative for the government and non-governmental organization to leverage adult education programmes in addressing the problems of unemployment ability of young members of the community.
