ABSTRACT
This study examines the impact of adult education on workforce development among youths in Owan-East Local Government Area. The findings reveal that adult education significantly enhances employability by providing technical, vocational, and literacy skills, with 90% of respondents affirming improved job performance and 82% acknowledging the relevance of vocational training. Additionally, soft skills development, including communication and digital literacy, was highlighted as crucial for workplace adaptability. However, several challenges hinder participation, including financial constraints (87%), lack of awareness (81%), inadequate facilities (79%), societal perceptions (74%), and scheduling conflicts (84%). These findings emphasize the need for targeted interventions such as financial support, awareness campaigns, infrastructure improvement, and flexible learning schedules to maximize the benefits of adult education for youth workforce development.
