As the global population increasingly gravitates towards urban centers, the need for sustainable urban design has become paramount. This abstract delves into the pivotal role of architectural design methods in shaping urban environments that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also ecologically sound and socially inclusive in which the main purpose is to lead to a better quality of life for people. The study emphasizes the three interconnected pillars of urban sustainability— environmental, economic, and social and draws attention to how intricate this idea is. It looks into how these architectural design issues might be resolved by adding green areas, increasing energy efficiency, and making use of renewable resources. Urban buildings that include rooftop greenery, vertical gardens, and plants not only have better overall air quality and lower air pollution and the urban heat island effect, but they also look better. The value of energy-efficient design techniques including natural ventilation, passive solar design, and energy-efficient materials is also highlighted in the abstract. These techniques support international efforts to mitigate climate change because they not only reduce energy use but also greenhouse gas emissions. The possibility for mixed-use developments and adaptive reuse of existing structures is discussed in the abstract with reference to economic sustainability. By creating thriving communities and drawing in businesses, these strategies not only maximize land use but also promote economic growth.
