ABSTRACT
This study looks at the Application of Audio and Visual aids in teaching Integrated Science in Secondary schools and the possible problems of the availability of these aids, analyze the possible reasons why teachers and students do not have access to them.
The study employed was the Questionnaire design. Data collection was out bydistribution of questionnaires in the Urban area of Egor Local government area, Benin city, Edo state. Purposive Sampling was the method used in distributing the questionnaires. The study made use of 100 questionnaires containing 21 relevant questions. Descriptive Statistics were used to analyze 100 usable responses.
The study found among other things that the main reason for the lack of Audio and Visual aids is the lack of accessibility. The most significant reason for the inaccessibility to these aids is the lack of funds. This paper shows lack of funds, lack of maintenance and lack of sufficient audio and visual aids are the main reasons for the inaccessibility of audio and visual aids.
This study recommends that government should ensure that instructional materials are sufficiently provided in public schools, effective security systems to prevent theft and vandalisation of instructional materials.
