ABSTRACT

Sewage is the term used for water waste that contains feces, urine and laundry waste. It can also be carried in solution or suspension, that is intended to be removed from a community also known as domestic and industrial waste water. It is more than 99.9% liquid waste and 0.1% solid waste is characterized by volume or rate of flow, physical conditions, chemical and toxic constituents and its bacteriological status. Hospital sewage contain microorganisms such as bacteria, some of which may be antibiotic resistant, viruses, fungi, and protozoa. Generally, the isolates exhibited a high level of resistance to the used antibiotics such as tetracycline, erythromycin, meropenem, colistin and augmentin. S. aureus isolates were most resistant to most of the antibiotics used.
