ABSTRACT

Ficus exasperata is a shrub that belongs to the Moraceae family and is mostly found in tropical and subtropical areas. Its rough-leaved surface has earned it the nickname "sand paper tree." In this project, the traditional uses of Ficus exasperata Vahl (Moraceae) leaves as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and wound-healing agent are being scientifically investigated. Additionally, it discusses the phytochemical characteristics and isolation of Ficus exasperata. The leaves' 70% ethanolic extracts were examined for their antibacterial properties. The agar well diffusion, microdilution, and binary dilution assays were used to evaluate the antibacterial properties of extracts at concentrations of 10 mg/ml. For the evaluation, three organisms were used: S. aureus, E. coli, and P. aeruginosa. The antibacterial properties of the leaf aqueous extract were examined. The agar well diffusion, microdilution, and binary dilution assays were used to evaluate the antibacterial properties of extracts at concentrations of 10 mg/ml. The extract's lowest concentrations that prevented the growth of Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were 400 mg/ml, 700 mg/ml, and 200 mg/ml, respectively. The extract inhibited Pseudomonas aeruginosa, E. Coli, and Staphylococcus aureus in a dose-dependent manner; the lowest concentrations were 400 mg/ml, 700 mg/ml, and 200 mg/ml, respectively. The MIC of the extract for P. aeruginosa, S. aureus, and E. coli was this.  These investigations' findings have shown that F. exasperata leaf extracts have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties. These results validate the traditional use of F. exasperata Vahl leaves in a variety of medical treatments for wounds, infections, and inflammation.
