ABSTRACT
The increasing prevalence of diabetes worldwide has led to a growing interest of natural remedies for cure and management. Diabetes develops when there is a problem with insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreases, causing the body to have trouble regulating blood sugar levels. This study was aimed to investigate how the unique mixture of Apple juice (malus domestica) and tiger nut milk (Cyperus esculentus) impacts blood glucose levels and insulin sensitivity in Albino rats, serving as an animal model. By analyzing various parameters, including fasting blood glucose levels and glucose tolerance the study uncovers the potential anti-diabetic properties of this combination. The findings from this study revealed promising results, indicating a significant decrease in fasting blood glucose levels in the group treated with apple juice and tiger nut milk mixture compared to the control group. Additionally, the treated group exhibited improved glucose tolerance, suggesting enhanced insulin sensitivity. This study contributes to the growing of evidence supporting the potential of natural interventions for diabetes. In conclusion, these results suggest that the combination of apple juice and tiger nut milk has a beneficial effect on diabetes management.
