ANNUAL BUDGETARY PROVISIONS AND YOUTH EMPOWERMENT IN EGOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

ABSTRACT

This research project examined "Annual budgetary provisions and Youth Empowerment: A case study of Egor local government area" and the objectives of the study includes to: Establish a relationship between annual budgetary provision and Youth Empowerment in Egor local government, to assertion the effectiveness of annual budgetary provisions on provision of well paid Jobs for the Youth in Egor local government area, to examine the extent to which annual budgetary provision have contributed to youth under - empowerment in Egor local government, to access how effective the annual budgetary provisions in enhancing youth empowerment in the area of skill development, to examine the factors responsible for the failure of annual budgetary provisions in addressing Youth Empowerment problems in Egor local government area. The statistical reasearch tools were used for analysing all data collected both from primary sources and secondary sources, these statistical tools include: The use of questionnaires, chi square calculations, survey and observation. In carry out the work and testing the data collected, a total of 400 questionnaires were shared on the field, using the communities scattered round Egor local government as respondents for the questions asked and the youths were the major focus. At the end of the work, it was discovered that the annual budgetary provisions of Egor local government area have not totally affected youth employment, it was also discovered that the youths of Egor local government area look forward to more youth employment efforts from the local government in enhancing their lives. The youths look forward to the provisions of well paid Jobs, entrepreneurship programes etc. At the end of the research, it was recommended that the government should take Youth Empowerment with a new level of enthusiasm, dedication and full commitment. This is because it was discovered in the course of the research that Youth Empowerment has sustainable benefits both to the local government and the nation at large. The benefits of youth empowerment discussed in the work are without boundaries, which gives approval to the reason why such a recommendation as the first was given by the research student. Also it was also recommended that the government should work hand in glove with private institutions and other civil society organizations to ensure youth employment is a massive success in Egor local government. If the youths are the leaders of tomorrow, then empowering them means empowering the "Tomorrow" of Egor local government area.
