ABSTRACT
Nigeria’s size and location has positioned it to experience different weather phenomenon which are influenced by air masses over time and the interactions that occurs at fronts and boundaries between air masses and these include ENSO, ITCZ, Climate system ,etc. The aim therefore of this research is to ascertain the seasonal and yearly weather variation experienced in Lagos State. In addition present weather extremes were highlighted and possible implication of weather extremes were mentioned. Weather data were collected from NIMET and where analyzed using bar chart, line graphs, correlation and time series analysis. The results shows that there is weather variation in Lagos State which is caused by both anthropogenic and natural forcing and that there are stable and fluctuating trends in the different weather variables The research recommended that among others that the best available scientific information on the patterns, projections and consequences of weather variability should be widely used with an understanding of associated uncertainties and should lead to informed policy making that protects the environment enhance socio economic development and ensures a sustainable future for Lagos State.
