ABSTRACT
This research work is focused on the evaluation of newspaper readership pattern among student of mass communication department in the University of Benin. Questions were designed to find out the newspaper readership pattern of mass communication students. This is an analysis of the academic importance of newspaper readership on students with unlimited access to the newspaper. This study consist of five chapters, chapter one was on the background of the study, however, the significance of the study was highlighted in addition to the problems encountered by the researcher in every course of investigation. Chapter two focused on the review of related literatures while the third chapter was on methodology. Areas considered under this section are population of the study, sample and sampling techniques, research instrument procedure of data analysis. Chapter four was devoted to presentation, data analysis and interpretation/discussion of findings. In fact, the researcher adopted the use of simple percentage method to analyse the data collected by means of questionnaires. On the final note was chapter five, which was devoted to summary, recommendations and conclusions.
