ABSTRACT
Trafficking is a global issue that affects vulnerable populations, including children and adolescents. This study aims to evaluate the prevalence and characteristics of human trafficking among junior secondary school students in Oredo Local Government Area, Edo State, Nigeria. A mixed-methods approach will be employed, involving both quantitative and qualitative data collection. A survey will be administered to a representative sample of junior secondary school students to assess their knowledge, attitudes, and experiences regarding human trafficking.
The findings of this study will provide valuable data on the scale and nature of human trafficking among the target population, as well as inform the development of tailored prevention and response strategies. The results will be disseminated to relevant government agencies, educational institutions, and civil society organizations to support the implementation of effective policies and programs to combat human trafficking and protect vulnerable youth in Oredo Local Government Area and similar communities. The outcomes of this research will contribute to the growing body of knowledge on human trafficking, with the potential to inform interventions at the local, state, and national levels.
