ABSTRACT

Ever since the world transformed into the digital era, Electronic commerce (E-commerce) has become an invaluable system of transaction for everyone, it’s not only beneficial nor is it limited to the business owners but also extends to people who want to make purchases, payments or get job offers without hassles. However, its growth was not affected by the recent Covid-19 pandemic as e-commerce sales grew to US$ 4.28 trillion in 2020. This project focuses on building an e-commerce platform for higher institutions, this platform will enable staff and students of institutions to buy, sell, pay for services using payment gateways, advertise skills and also work while studying. Its designs were modelled with a Unified Modelling Language (UML) notations and implemented with some modern web technologies. To develop an e-commerce Progressive Web Application (PWA), this work requires an in-depth study and understanding of some technologies which will be used to achieve the required output. These technologies include programming languages such as – Python, HyperText Markup Language(HTML), JavaScript (JS) and Cascading Style Sheets(CSS).
