Abstract

This research project aims to thoroughly assess the proficiency of Quantity Surveyors (QS) in the utilization of project management software in Edo State. With the increasing importance of project management software in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of project planning, execution, and control, it is crucial to understand the proficiency levels of Quantity Surveyors in utilizing these tools. The study employs a comprehensive approach, involving surveys and interviews conducted with Quantity Surveyors actively working on construction projects in Edo State. Through these data collection methods, the research examines the knowledge, skills, and usage patterns of Quantity Surveyors regarding project management software. The findings of this study provide valuable insights into the current proficiency levels among Quantity Surveyors in Edo State. By understanding their proficiency gaps and areas of strength, the research offers a foundation for targeted interventions and training programs to enhance their competence in utilizing project management software effectively. Furthermore, this research identifies and explores the challenges faced by Quantity Surveyors in utilizing project management software. These challenges may include limited access to training and professional development opportunities, inadequate support from organizations, and difficulties in integrating software into existing workflows. Based on the research findings, recommendations are provided to enhance the proficiency of Quantity Surveyors in Edo State.
