ABSTRACT
This study was conducted to examine the effects of ginger (Zingiber officinale), turmeric (Curcuma longa), red pepper (Capsicum annuum) and black pepper (Piper nigrum) on carcass, internal organ characteristics and intestinal gut measurements on broiler chicken. A total of 100 day old chicks were used for the study which lasted for ten weeks. Birds were randomly allotted to five treatments in a completely randomized design, with each treatment having 20 birds, with 3 replicates. Ginger, turmeric, black pepper, red pepper were administered in the water of broiler (5weeks of age) at 5g/ 10litres of water. The result shows that the live weight of broiler chicken fed different phytogenic plant additives were significantly different at 5% level of probability.
