ABSTRACT

This study is an Analysis of President Goodluck Jonathan Foreign Policy Towards Africa. It discuss the concept and nature of Nigeria Foreign Policy, the circumstances that led to the emergence of Goodluck Jonathan as president of Nigeria, the factors that influenced the formulation and implementation of Jonathan's foreign policy towards Africa, and the key principles and priorities that underpinned Jonathan's foreign policy in Africa. According to the study, Foreign policy is “the conscious behaviour of a nation-state towards her external environment.”1 It is the set of objective adopted by a state in pursuing its domestics goals with the international system. It can also be said to be a coordinate strategy designed by the policy makers of a state to manipulate the international system in order to protect and defend the objectives that are in consonance with the state’s national interest.
