SUMMARY
In the kidney markers, we observed in this study that they were significant increase (P < 0.05) in potassium, chloride and bicarbonate in the animals administered with nitrofuratoin, which dropped after the administration was stopped as seen in untreated group (previously administered with nitrofuratoin) in comparison with the control (fig. 1, 2 and 6) above. There were no significant difference (P > 0.05) in the value of potassium and chloride values in the groups administered C. papaya, P. niruri and combine extract (previously treated with nitrofuratoin). There were no significant difference (P > 0.05) observed in the value of sodium, creatinine and urea in the group treated with nitrofuratoin in comparison with the control (fig. 3, 4, 5), significant increase (P < 0.05) was observed in the value of sodium (Na+) in the untreated group and in the groups treated with C. papaya, P.niruri and combine extract. Significant increase (P < 0.05) was only seen in the value of urea in the group treated with P. niruri, but no significant difference (P > 0.05) in the value of urea in groups treated with C. papaya and combine. There were no significant differences (P > 0.05) in the value of creatinine in groups treated with P. niruri, C. papaya and combined. Electrolytes help to regulate the kidney functions.
