SUMMARY
From time immemorial, Igbo people have been making use of traditional medicine. This type of medicine is holistic in its approach, in that it handles problems from three perspectives - physical, emotional and spiritual. This work demonstrates the importance and relevance of traditional medicine among Isuochi and its practitioners ethical principles. It shows that Ofo and Ogu are the ethical code for traditional medicine in Isuochi because Ofo and Ogu play a significant role in their health, spiritual, and social lives. Ofo and Ogu are inseparable, and each invokes the other. They are principle of truth, honesty, innocence, moral probity, justice, and a good sense of judgment. Their invocation enhances the efficacy and potency of medical treatment. Hence it is vital foe both the dibia and patient to operate with Ofo and Ogu, which implies standing and upholding truth, justice, innocence and moral probity in giving and receiving treatment. Omenala is the tradition of the people. It is the foundation and substratum on which traditional medicine is built. Traditional medicine continues to be resilient and preferred in some health conditions because of its foundation on omenala.
