ABSTRACTThis study examines the adoption of Fintech Products by SMEs in Nigeria, using Benin City, Edo State as a case study. Data were sourced through the administration of a hundred (100) questionnaires. The descriptive analysis (frequency, mean and percentage) was used for the data analysis.The result from the analysis showed that a number of SMEs in Nigeria are not so knowledgeable about Fintech products, having little or no idea on whether these products exist and their uses. The use of Fintech products by SMEs were limited due to the lack of awareness of these products and only a type of Fintech products which is mobile payment is popularly used by the majority. The factors that influenced the adoption of Fintech products by SMEs in Nigeria ranged from lack of trust in technology, security concerns,regulatory issues and lack of awareness to cost effectiveness, access to financial services and enhanced security to affordability and ease of use.A few recommendations were made that proper security measures should be put in place to ensure reliability and smooth use of Fintech products. Training should be given to SMEs on the Fintech products available which would aid their business operations. The government should provide a good and conducive environment and regulations for Fintech products for them to thrive and financial institutions such as banks should cooperate with Fintech service providers and integrate financial technology in their operations.
