SUMMARY
In this study, I have shown the stylistic analysis of Niyi Osundare and Tanure Ojaide selected poem; I have shown how each of these poets excises the use of language and style in some of their selected poem, I have revealed how they have use language to achieve great height in their work, and I have shown the efficient use of style in their work or how their style defines their work.
In this study, I started with the graphological analysis, and then I shifted my analysis into his lexical substance of language in other to achieve some stylistic effects in their volumes of poetry. The main concern of this essay, as stated in foregoing is to show that studying Niyi Osundare and Tanure Ojaides’ poetry from a stylistic point of view would enable one to understand and appreciate the aesthetics their poetry from the various stylistic perspectives to fully grasp their ideological stance. So, the analysis also includes highlighting the various ways through which the poets communicate their message to their audience.
Although the styles in the selected poems were not totally exhausted, but the study was able to grasp some certain dominant styles in the poet writes their poems. Basically, it was seen in the study that the two poets: Osundare and Ojaide employs the efficient use of imagery in their work. They also made use of some figurative devices like, personification, satire and repetition in their collective works. There is also the use of pidgin and code switching in Tanure Ojaide’s poems.
Finally, it is important to state that Niyi Osundare and Tanure Ojaide styles had lead to a successful assist in understanding their poems. It also helps the reader or audience in appreciating their various skills of writing and their intellectual ideas.
