This work has established a comprehensive understanding of Xenophobia that goes beyond a theoretical definition. This work has provided an in-depth examination of the historical background of Xenophobia while painting a picture of how Xenophobia has manifested itself in recent times against African nationals, particularly, Nigerians. The devastating effects of Xenophobia in various spheres were also explained in this study. To conclude, a brief explanation of each chapter will be given.

 Chapter one essentially serves as a template for how the remaining chapters will unfold. The first chapter provides a brief background to the study, the scope of study, chapterisation and a literature review of some important works used in the course of study.
