SUMMARY
This work has demonstrated that the significance of Benin traditional greeting and survival of the Benin cultural heritage. The condition of which they were established and their role in broad based information networking monitoring of movement of ancient Africa cultural processes. The introductory section of the work provided an introduction to the study. It consisted of aims and objectives, scope of the study, as well as the methodology and chapterization for the study. A literature review was also carried out.
The study outlines the Benin unique cultural heritage. The uniqueness of culture which had great admiration worldwide. It also identifies the 1897 Benin punitive expedition in which the British government looted art works in Benin palace and treasury attests to this assertion. And that the Benin traditional apparels are significant aspect of Benin culture. The Benin Empire under the rulership of the Royal Highness Oba is socially stratified into three different groups. These are the royalty, nobles and commoners. This diversity creates room for different apparels worn in Benin.
