ABSTRACT

This essay examines the ills in J.M. Coetzee’s disgrace. It analyses sexual harassment and inequality as one of the major societal problems in post apartheid South Africa. Employing post colonial and feminist theories, this portrays the rate of sexual violence and inequality as the aftermath of unchecked dominance, revealing the psychological trauma and tension that comes from the aftermath of such dominance. Through detailed analysis of the text, this study revealed that there is a link between sexual harassment, gender inequality, racial inequality and economic inequality in South African society and on a wider sphere, the African continent.
