This study examines the Ilaọsọ festival in Ameadiaba Nkpa Community, from a socio-semiotics perspective. The study adopted qualitative research within a descriptive approach. The data for the study was collected, through a semistructure interview that was conducted in person, using instruments such as Tape recorder and note-taking. While follow-up questions were asked, using a mobile phone through the WhatsApp platform. The study was anchored on the socio-semiotics theory as espoused by Halliday. The findings revealed that Ilaọsọ festival is characterized by variety of linguistic elements that are expressed through the use of objects, items and songs during the festival. These linguistic elements help to create a sense of uniqueness and distinction about the festival, making it special and unlike other festivals.
