ABSTRACT
This research work provides an in-depth classification, analysis and discussion of various phonological processes found in the Loan words in Enuani's dialect of the Igbo language. The purpose of this research work is to analyse the phonological processes that are overt in this dialect. These processes which include; consonant deletion, vowel coalescence and insertion are found in the Enuani loaned words. To achieve the aims of this study, the researcher used the tenet of generative phonology to analyze the lists of words gotten from native speakers during interviews. The study revealed that phonological processes were found in the borrowed words of the Enuani dialect of the Igbo language. This change in the sequential arrangement of the vowel and consonant sounds of the English words loaned into the Enuani dialect to fit the conventional CV structure of the language has accelerated the deletion and allowed the insertion of phonemes into the words. The researcher recommends that researchers should do a comparative study of the Enuani dialect and the standard English language.
