ABSTRACT
This project work has to do with the documentation of the human body parts in Ilaje dialect. Over the years, Nigeria has benefitted from a lot of linguistic features which proper documentation is a part and that have saved some endangered languages. However, some languages are yet to be documented. This study focuses mainly on the documentation of the human body parts in Ilaje dialect, and the theoretical framework that is used is the Description framework. For this project there was a list of 76 lexicon after that we met with an informant who speaks the Ilaje dialect to give translation of the body parts to get our data. The findings that were discovered during the cause of this project includes: use of compounding, metaphorical use, borrowed words, semantics clusters and comparism. This project is a way for preserving the Ilaje dialect from language death.
