ABSTRACT
Religious conflicts in Nigeria are based on religious beliefs and attitudes that hinges on fanaticism and ignorance. The pluralism of religious beliefs in Nigeria is a key challenge facing theologians and religious communities today. It raises questions regarding how practitioners and believers from different tradition should encounter one another as they enter into substantial and regular contact in every part of the country. Careful reflection on religion in their particularity and interrelation is an increasing input and necessary theological task. The methodology of this research is comparative. This study focuses on the similarities and differences in beliefs and teachings of two major religions in Nigeria Islam and Christianity which has been found to have more areas of cooperation in contrast to dissimilarities and this becomes effective as a dialogue approach to religious conflicts.
