ABSTRACT
Marriage is a universal phenomenal. It is an element of culture found across all society though with some variance. It is an important institution in human society that sustain the existence and survival of human categories. Though the origin of marriage may be disputed it is certainly an institution that is as old as man himself. This research work focuses on the concept of marriage among the Orogu n people of Delta state one or the clan of the Urhobo ethnic group and marriage in Islam. Finding in the research work show that both the former and the later have some similarities and different as regards marriage and the procedure of getting married.
